I Finished Something

I got tired of being behind on everything, so I got busy and finished the latest stitchery from the Noah's Ark Bom. The colors don't look exactly right in the scan, but I thought it turned out well. I don't know if I have said it before, but I really don't like to do the satin stich. I am just not very good at it. I got the spots done and I guess they came out ok. Maybe I should just practice more. I was doing a running stitch as the border, but decided I like the back stitched look better. Have to re-do all the ones I have made so far, but it doesn't take too long to do. Getting finished with this one so quickly, makes for a long wait for the next one.

It looks great! Nicely done! Perhaps, instead of waiting for the next pattern, you could make duplicates to keep you busy, and then you will have an extra gift to give....Just a thought. 8-)

In reading your comments on my blog, I feel like I am getting to know your personality! I think that you are probably a person that likes to socialize, likes to joke, has a fun-loving sarcastic streak, and is great person to be around! The world needs more people like you! 8-)
Happy stitchings!

I love how your giraffes turned out. I think your satin stich is very nicely done. I have so enjoyed working on these little blocks this year. It is an awesome pattern isn't it.

Bill and I are getting ready to go to Pineville with John and Gayle for two nights. I can't wait to see what you do with the Noah's Ark blocks. It will be cute whatever you do. You are so darn good at emb. I am ready for winter so I can do some sewing. I want to finish my black string quilt.

Hi Lilly, That Noah's Ark quilt is going to be beautiful. I wish I would start it and then I think, No, finish what you have and what is ahead for the holidays. I am making copies of it.

Lilly, your stitcherie is just gorgeous. You always do such wonderful embroidery work.
I hope your back and lungs are feeling better. I hope you stay strong and resist the temptation to smoke. I know how difficult it can be. I quit almost 25 years ago. I'll be cheering for you.
Aloha,
Lettie

Hey Lilly! Just popped across from Lynette Anderson's blog to peek at your Noah's Ark stitching - well done! Your satin stitch looks great - I piked and replaced it with backstitch outline and filled in with French knots cos I hate satin stitch too!! I posted my giraffe block today and have to say have been happy with how it came up. Have a great day! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

It looks great Lilly you did well! I also have trouble with the satin stitch and on some days those French knots won't behave. I'm just not a natural at these things but I enjoy making them. I'm two behind.

Just starting the BOM and began looking at the blogs listed on Lynette's blog to see the progression of the blocks. Yours are just lovely. I have one almost done. I hope I keep it up--it is good practise for me. The satin stitch is not so hard for me but that outline gets me everytime.
