I have been busy during the day doing some meandering on my string quilt. I had this first strip finished over a year ago, before I fell and broke my shoulder and pelvis. I only have one more strip to do before I start joining them together. I can’t wrestle with a whole quilt, so Kathy and I quilt our quilts this way. I was thinking I would send them all off to a local long arm quilter, but when I got my flannel quilt back from her, I decided I would do them myself. I was not happy with her work. Mine is far from perfect, but a least my edges come out straight.

Your strip quilt is going to be gorgeous! The quilting is great! Sorry to hear that you broke your shoulder and pelvis in the past. That had to be a really painful thing. I have wanted to try quiting as I go. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to join my pieces up right. That's disappointing sending your quilt off to be quilted and not liking the results. I find I like doing things myself, if I can, espaecially where hard earned money is concerned. Have a great day! <3 Louann
Looking Good! It always feels good to get a project finished. Your quilting looks great. I really do like making string quilts, but I am not going to do another large quilt for a while! Later maybe?
Looking good Lilly! You have me curious as to how you quilt them in strips, and then join them...Sounds interesting? Something maybe for me to try... 8-)
Sorry to hear of your fall and situation from the past...
Happy stitchings!
Ouch, shoulder and pelvis. That must have been a painful recovery. Hope everything healed good.
Very colorful string quilt...really like that.
